The Human Practice

Grief & Bereavement Counselling in Welwyn Garden City & Online Across the UK

Compassionate psychotherapy to support you through grief, loss, and life transitions, at your pace and in your own way.

Grief can feel overwhelming, disorienting, and deeply personal. Whether you are coping with the loss of a loved one, a significant life change, or a sense of something ending, you don’t have to go through it alone.

I offer a space where you can slow down, make sense of what you’re feeling, and be supported without judgement.

I work with adults in Welwyn Garden City and across Hertfordshire, and also offer online therapy throughout the UK.

Sometimes life changes before we are ready

Life rarely unfolds exactly as we imagined.

There are endings we did not expect.
Beginnings we feel unprepared for.
Moments that quietly unsettle who we thought we were.

Even positive changes can bring uncertainty.

You may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or quietly aware that something in your life no longer feels quite right.

A calm space to reflect, understand what is happening, and find your way forward.

I offer psychotherapy for adults navigating periods of change.

Change can bring possibility, but it can also bring loss, anxiety and self-doubt.

Therapy provides a calm and confidential space to explore what is happening in your life and how it is affecting you.

When experiences are given time and thoughtful attention, something often begins to shift.

Clarity emerges.
Confidence steadies.
A renewed connection to yourself can begin to take shape.

Support with grief, loss and life transitions

You might be experiencing a major life change such as:

• The death of a loved one, supporting someone at the end of life, or facing questions about your own mortality

  • Personal illness, caring for someone who is unwell, or adapting to life after serious illness

  • Relationship difficulties, separation, or divorce

  • Family conflict, parenting challenges, or blending families

  • Work burnout, career change, or retirement

  • Questions about your own identity or purpose

  • A sense of loss that is hard to name

Therapy can help you:

  • Understand and process your experience

  • Find ways to cope day-to-day

  • Make sense of complex or conflicting emotions

  • Begin to adjust to life after a major life change

Each transition is unique. Together we explore your experience at a pace that feels thoughtful and supportive.

I am a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and adhere to their ethical framework.

This may be for you if…

You are moving through a period of change in your life.

Perhaps something important has shifted — a relationship, your work, your health, or your sense of direction.

You may feel uncertain, overwhelmed, or quietly aware that something within you is asking for attention.

You do not need to have everything clearly articulated.

Sometimes it is enough simply to begin the conversation.

Understanding change begins with being heard.
